Scenario
In your most recent appointment as the intermediate Project Surveyor on a university project, you have been asked to provide expert professional cost consultancy services. Based on the information provided, you are expected to:

Prepare a detailed take off in accordance with NRM2 and include the following components: substructure (typical strip foundations) and superstructure (walls, floors, windows, doors, roof, wall, floor and ceiling finishes only) for proposed project; see attached drawings
Task 2:
Prepare a detailed bill of quantities based on quantities extracted from Task 1. In your cost estimate, include the following provisional sums: £52,000, £25,960, £136,280 and £233,330 for fixtures and fittings; removable furniture; Mechanical Electrical; and Plumbing services and Heating services. Your submission must include the quantification (i.e. “taking-off
quantities”) prepared either manually or using MS Excel, a query sheet with the list of assumptions if necessary, and a cover letter addressed to the client. [Note: you are encouraged to use MS Excel spreadsheet for the preparation of your Bill of Quantities (BoQ)
