Element 2 (Knowledge management system case study): An effective knowledge management system must address both the creation and the transfer of explicit and tacit knowledge.

You are required to specify and build a mediaWiki as a knowledge management system for your selected company (e.g. the University of West London and its stakeholders (e.g. overseas student). In case you decide to build a different KM system you need to discuss this with your lecturer in the seminars.

To build the mediawiki for UWL you need to:
1. Develop a critical analysis of existing and potential knowledge management problems in the selected case study. (e.g. Issues overseas students are facing when studying at UWL.) Provide comparative evidence from other research to support your analysis.
2. Develop an IT enabled Knowledge Management strategy which will alleviate issues you have identified for the users (e.g. overseas students studying at UWL).
3. Evaluate mediaWiki and 2 other appropriate open source tools that might help you implement the knowledge management system.
4. Design and Implement the knowledge management system using media Wiki. A prototype and screenshot of the systems or a link to a working mediaWiki are acceptable.
