What am I required to do in this assignment?
This is an individual written report with 1,200 words +/- 10%
1.For an airline of your choice research and investigate an example of an industrial relations dispute
2.Your report should cover:
a. A brief overview of the background to, and the cause/s of, the dispute
b. The actions taken by both parties (employer and employees)
c. The implications for the airline concerned
d. Details of how the dispute was resolved
3.Your report should include at least two graphics including a timeline listing the main elements of the dispute and estimates of the costs to the airline in terms of loss of revenue, reputational damage, negative press coverage etc.
4.Your report must include a minimum of 5 references in the Harvard referencing format
Your word limit does not include your references (in the text or in the reference list) or any appendices.
It is recommended that your report complies with the following structure:
1.Title page :- to include unit name, unit code the title of your report your name and your student number. It could also include a photo for attractiveness and appeal.
2.Contents page Table of contents :- a list of the sections and sub-sections (if applicable) of your report. For example 1.0 Executive summary, 2.0 Introduction, 3.0 Background 4.0 The Dispute 4.1. Actions taken by the company 4.2 Actions taken by the employees etc. HINT – Use you Headings/Sub headings to structure the layout of your report so it reads in a logical and coherent format.
3.Executive summary :- a concise summary of your main findings NB You should always write your executive summary last although it is always placed at the front of your report)
4.Introduction :- a brief outline of what your report sets out to cover and ant scene-setting material. It is crucial that you keep this succinct yet informative.
5.Main body of your report :- divided into numbered sections using Headings and Sub-headings.
6.List of references :- using Harvard referencing as used at the University of Bedfordshire.
7.Appendices :- only use they if are appropriate and relevant and help to support/reinforce what you have said in the main body of your report
